Relationship with yourself

I have been doing a lot of work at CU about relationships and one of the relationships that people tend to fail to mention is the relationship with the self. When I talk about relationships, people often think of romantic partners, family, friends, co-workers, roommates, etc., but there is hardly ever talk of relationship with ourselves.
So I want to ask you all how you create and maintain a healthy relationship with yourself. In other words, what do you do for self-care and to continually put ourselves as our first priority.  I didn't start thinking about my relationship with myself until a couple years ago when someone specifically asked me how I take care of myself and if I am my first priority. Recently I have forgotten to focus on myself but I really want to get back to taking care of myself. So how do you all take care of yourselves? How do you nurture this relationship with yourself?
I think a lot of taking care of ourselves is also making sure that we do not talk negatively to ourselves. I know that I am my worst critic and can be meaner to myself than anyone else might be. So I try to watch those negative thoughts but it can get really hard at times. I'm also making sure that I go to hula and do things that make me feel relaxed, but getting caught up with everyday tasks has made it harder for me to pinpoint those things that make me feel relaxed.
Well so how do you all take care of yourselves and make sure that you are your #1 priority? I could use some tips!

miss u guys!

  1. Get a full night's sleep as often as possible. I find it affects my physical comfort, mental sharpness, and mood. I enjoy life more when I'm well-rested. By chance, I just read this article on the subject: https://medium.com/the-healthy-life/b65f8e19ed18

More ideas later, but that's a simple one that makes every day better.
